Hello NIPF Members,
We hope this message finds you well.
We want to address a recent incident involving a fellow athlete and member of our community. An individual tested positive for banned substances in accordance with the IPF Antidoping regulations. This serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding the highest ethical standards in our sport.
We are actively working to reinforce these values within our community. As part of this effort, we are in the process of revising our contracts with affiliate gyms and partners to ensure a strong commitment to adhering to WADA codes and IPF regulations.
To prevent such incidents in the future, we are developing an education policy aimed at increasing awareness and understanding of antidoping regulations. Education is a powerful tool in maintaining the integrity of our sport and protecting the reputation of both our athletes and the NIPF as a whole.
The sanctions imposed on individuals found guilty of doping violations are significant and encompass the following restrictions:
- 1. The sanctioned individual cannot use equipment from or train in an affiliated venue.
- 2. The sanctioned individual cannot attend team training sessions.
- 3. The sanctioned individual cannot coach WADA-affiliated athletes.
- 4. The sanctioned individual cannot treat WADA-affiliated athletes.
- 5. The sanctioned individual cannot engage in any activity linked to competition, including coaching, administration, MC duties, loading, refereeing, sports therapy, and more.
We would like to emphasise that ignorance of these sanctions is not an excuse. It is crucial that all members of the NIPF community are aware of these regulations to prevent inadvertent involvement with ineligible athletes.
We appreciate your ongoing support and dedication to fair play, integrity, and the spirit of our sport. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to share them with us. Thank you for being part of the NIPF community and for helping us ensure the continued excellence and reputation of our organisation.
Best regards,
NIPF Committee
